Graduating College & Moving Forward
So as I'm lounging here barefoot on my deck, wearing shorts and a golden yellow t-shirt, enjoying the first warm Duluth day of the year and a Blue Moon, it occurred to me that this may be the last time I get to relax like this for a while... so I better blog about it ;) I'm still in disbelief, but today was my last day of college classes/finals ever!! The last day of school I may ever have, so after purchasing plenty of UMD Alumni ephemera, I decided to take a walk to one of my favorite places on campus: Lookout Point.
Isn't she a beauty?! One of the best places to go, take a moment, and just let it all sink in. I did the very same thing 4 years ago when I first came to UMD, wondering what all was in store for me in this crazy college town, wondering if I'd ever find my way, wondering if I'd ever make my mark. Now looking out at it all, I have memories touching each and every spot my eyes gazed over. Snow adventures down the hill, late nights designing at the library, meeting my boyfriend at the gym, letting loose with friends off campus, etc. I've gained many accomplishments along with some failures, but I finally have this feeling that it's time to move on and to continue my journey elsewhere.
Duluth has been pretty amazing for me because it's where I first discovered my love for graphic design. I'll never forget all of the valuable experience I gained interning with both UMD Athletics and IKONICS Corporation, but I'm absolutely thrilled (and a bit nervous) that it's time to take that next step with Meet Minneapolis! With graduation in 3 days, I'm finally feeling ready to move to the cities and keep designing!!
With that being said, I'll leave you with my final pixelation animation, Super Hero Tryouts :) Check out the awesome designers that helped me out with it! Kelsey Malsom, Karley Nyhus, & Paul Heltunen!
